Welcome back and Happy New Year! We hope you had a good break!
Over the next 7 weeks the children will be tackling the Learning Challenge Curriculum question, ‘What makes the Earth angry?’ We will be introducing the topic by creating a volcano that actually erupts. During the ‘volcano day’ children will learn about what surrounds a volcano and how it may affect the people who live there. For further information regarding this topic please see the attached overview.
Year 4LT and 4RW will have PE sessions every Thursday afternoon. Both classes will be taking part in a dance unit centred around the theme of ‘Water’.
Can you please ensure that your child has appropriate PE kit in school and that earring s are removed. Staff are not permitted to remove earrings.
Reading and homework:
As always please ensure that your child is reading at home every night with an adult. Children also have access to Bug Club at home where they can read further books appropriate to their ability.
All children will continue to receive maths, English and spelling homework on a weekly basis to be returned the following week.
If you have any questions, please speak to one of the Year 4 team.
Thank you for your continued support.

On Monday 19th June, Year 3, Year 3/4 and Year 4 took part in a ‘Taste of the Mediterranean’ presented by Junior Chef. The children became chefs for the day and used traditional foods from various Mediterranean countries to make a fruit crunch. They were guided through the experience and learnt about the origins of the fruit and vegetables and explored some of the human features from each country. The children had a fantastic day and they all had a chance to learn some cooking skills and try new foods.
