At Etruscan Primary School, we believe that children have the right to develop not only their minds but also their physical health, fitness and wellbeing. We aim to inspire all children to enjoy physical activity, develop confidence and competence in a range of physical activities and develop a lifelong love of being active.
Our PE curriculum, delivered through Get Set 4 PE, provides children with a broad and progressive programme of physical education. Children develop their physical skills alongside their knowledge and understanding of movement, tactics, teamwork and healthy lifestyles.
We provide opportunities for children to experience individual, partner and team activities, as well as opportunities to perform, compete, cooperate and evaluate their own and others' performances.
Through PE, children develop important personal qualities including resilience, determination, teamwork, communication, fairness, respect and confidence.
We recognise that physical activity contributes positively to children's physical and mental wellbeing and provides opportunities for children to develop skills that support them both within and beyond the PE curriculum.
