    Computing Curriculum Aim

At Etruscan Primary School, we aim to equip children with the knowledge, skills and confidence to use technology effectively throughout their lives, access learning in Key Stage 3 and explore future opportunities and careers within computing and technology.

Using the Teach Computing scheme, children experience a clear progression of computer science, information technology and digital literacy, with opportunities to use a wide range of hardware, software and unplugged resources to be creative, solve problems, work independently and collaboratively and apply computational thinking across the curriculum and beyond. Children develop an understanding of how information is created, stored, accessed, shared and manipulated, while learning to use technology, data and communication responsibly, respectfully and safely.

Online safety is embedded throughout our curriculum, equipping children with the skills and strategies to benefit from the opportunities of the online world while minimising risks to themselves and others. We want every child to leave Etruscan as an enthusiastic, capable and responsible user and creator of technology, ready to participate confidently in an increasingly digital world.
