Happy New Year and welcome back to the summer term; we hope you had a good break.
Over the next 6 weeks the children will be tackling the Learning Challenge Curriculum question, ‘Were the Vikings always vicious and victorious?’ We will be introducing the topic to the children Thursday 4th January when Erik the Viking visits school and shares his experiences. For further information regarding coverage during this topic please see the attached overview.
Year 3LG will be attending swimming sessions on a Monday morning.
Year 3JS will be attending swimming sessions on a Tuesday afternoon.
Can you please ensure that your child has the appropriate swimwear, towel and swimming cap?
Reading and homework:
As always please ensure that your child is reading at home every night with an adult. Children also have access to Bug Club at home where they can read further books appropriate to their ability.
All children will continue to receive maths, English and spelling homework on a weekly basis to be returned the following week.
If you have any questions, please see us on the playground after school or make an appointment to come in to see us.
Thank you for your continued support.
Mrs J Smith and Miss L Grocott
On Monday 19th June, Year 3, year 3/4 and year 4 took part in a ‘Taste of the Mediterranean’ presented by Junior chef. The children became chefs for the day and used traditional foods from various Mediterranean countries to make a fruit crunch. They were guided through the experience and learnt about the origins of the fruit and vegetables and explored some of the human features from each country. The children had a fantastic day and they all had a chance to learn some cooking skills and try new foods.
